Apple releases new public betas of tvOS 18.1, visionOS 2.1, HomePod Software 18.1

Apple has released tvOS 18.1 for the Apple TV set-top box. There are no release notes on what the update entails, but it’s likely bug fixes and security updates.

Apple has released new public betas of tvOS 18.1, visionOS 2.1, and HomePod Software 18.1.

Public betas are available on Apple’s Beta Software Program website. Just remember that beta software is unfinished software, so proceed with care. Apple does public betas in order to increase the size of the pool of testers. The tech giant recommends keeping back-ups of your files before installing a public beta.

Public beta testers can download tvOS 18.1 by opting in to beta updates through the Settings app on the Apple TV set-to box. ‌HomePod‌ software can be downloaded through the Home app on the iPhone. Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the app, choose Home Settings, and then select Software Update.
