Apple could unveil M4 iMacs, Mac minis, MacBook Pros at an online-only follow-up to its 2023 ‘Scary Fast’ event

Apple could unveil M4 iMacs, Mac minis, MacBook Pros at an online-only follow-up to its 2023 ‘Scary Fast’ event.

In an X post, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says inventory at Apple retail stores is “very low” for iMacs, Macs minis, and MacBook Pros, hinting that updates are coming soon.

Apple is expected to unveil M4-equipped versions of the desktops and laptops very soon. In fact, Gurman thinks they’ll go on sale around November 1.

“I’ve seen no evidence to suggest that Apple will hold a full-scale, iPhone like event at its headquarters with press” he says. “Instead, I’d anticipate the announcement to be online-focused with press hands-on opportunities, not too dissimilar from Scary Fast last year.”

Lat year on October 30 Apple hosted a “Scary Fast” event focused on new Mac products, including its next-generation chips. Apple announced the first three chips in the M3 chip family — the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max — and two devices for them to go in. The iMac was updated with the M3, while the MacBook Pro received all three chips. A new entry-level version of the 14-inch model features the M3, while the Pro and Max chips are reserved for higher-priced 14- and 16-inch models, which also get an exclusive black finish.
