The M4-equipped Mac mini will have five USB-C ports, but no USB-A connector

The upcoming M4-equipped Mac mini will have five USB-C ports but lose the old-school USB-A connectors, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in his latest “Power On” newsletter.

He says the diminutive Mac will get a “major redesign” — getting even smaller. The device will be far smaller than its predecessor, approaching the size of an Apple TV set-top box, Gurman says.

He adds that  the revamped Mac mini will sport at least three USB-C ports on the back, as well as an HDMI port. He thinks Apple plans two versions of the ‌2024 Mac mini‌: one with the standard M4 chip (a la the ‌iPad Pro)‌, and one with an M4 Pro chip.

This info from Gurman is from the free edition of “Power On”. If you like it, consider subscribing to Bloomberg.com—you’ll receive the newsletter earlier and get exclusive access to a Q&A section.
