Report: Apple won’t sell 500,000 Vision Pros this year

A newly granted Apple patent shows that Vision Pros could be used with easily exchangeable head bands. Different bands could provide different functions or offer more comfort features.

Apple isn’t likely to sell 500,000 Vision Pros this year, according to a Bloomberg report.

The US$3,500 spatial computer headset has yet to sell 100,000 units in a quarter since its launch in the US in February, and it faces a 75% drop in domestic sales in the current quarter, the article says, quoting data from the IDC research group.

IDC predicts that a more affordable (about half the price) spatial computer should rekindle interest in 2025, but sales are not expected to rise significantly over the coming year. Meanwhile, the Apple Vision Pro is set to launch in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, and Germany on July 12.
