° From 9to5Mac: In the month since the iPhone 14 lineup has been in the wild, we’ve seen two reports that measured the average 5G download speeds between 38 and 50% faster than the last generation devices. Now a new study from Ookla corroborates those results showing an improvement of 40% and beyond for cellular performance on iPhone 14 and 14 Pro in the US.

° From Macworld: Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, has confirmed that future iPhones will switch from Lightning to USB-C.

° From iMore: Foxconn has confirmed that the world’s largest iPhone manufacturing plant in Zhengzhou, China is in the middle of a fresh COVID-19 outbreak. Despite the news, the company maintains that iPhone production remains “relatively stable” with employees being offered support.

° From the Apple Developer page: The Preview app included with your Mac supports PostScript (.ps) and Encapsulated PostScript (.eps) files in macOS Monterey or earlier. Starting with macOS Ventura, Preview no longer supports these files. Other apps that can view or convert .ps and .eps files are available from the App Store and elsewhere.

° From The Wall Street Journal: Snap CEO Evan Spiegel says Apple’s privacy changes are evolving to help developers.

° From AppleInsider: Apple’s Craig Federighi has defended the decision to not develop Messages for Android, saying it would never get a mass audience, and had Apple done it, it would have hampered innovation.
