Apple updates iMovie, Final Cut Pro for macOS Ventura compatibility and more

Apple has updated iMovie and Final Cut Pro — its video editing apps targeted to, respectively, general consumers and pros — adding compatibility with macOS Ventura.

The former has been updated to 10.3.5, while the latter is now at version 10.6.5. iMovie’s update sees improvements in stability and performance and lets users import Magic Movie and Storyboard projects from iMovie for iOS and iPadOS.

Final Cut Pro 10.6.5 lets users export HEVC or H.264 video much faster on Apple Silicon Macs. It also improves performance when editing on a Mac that has an ambient light sensor that powers TrueTone.

The updates are available at the Mac App Store. iMovie is free; Final Cut Pro costs US$299.
