Apple has rolled out watchOS 9.1. Apple Watch owners can download the update by opening up the Apple Watch app on their iPhone and going to General > Software Update.
To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least a 50% battery charge. Plus, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the iPhone.
Here are Apple’s release notes for watchOS 9.1:
° Battery life extended during Outdoor Walking, Running, and Hiking Workouts with the ability to reduce the frequency of heart rate and GPS readings on Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) and Apple Watch Ultra;
° Apple Music can download while Apple Watch is off the charger using Wi-Fi or cellular;
° Matter, the new smart home connectivity standard, is supported and enables a wide variety of smart home accessories to work together across ecosystems.
The update also includes some bug fixes and other performance tweaks.
I’d like to know if it fixes the bug where instead of announcing the average pace when running it repeats the time for the last mile or kilometre.
