The Apple Watch registered 197% growth in India in the second quarter of 2022, reports Counterpoint Research. Despite this it still ranks seventh among the smartphone vendors in the country.
The Watch Series 7 continued to be its best seller and has reached to almost 250,000 shipments till the end of the quarter in India. With upcoming launches in quarter three 2022, Apple is expected to gain further market share, according to Counterpoint Research.
Overall, India’s smartwatch market grew 312% year-over-year in quarter two of Q2 2022, notes the research group, which asys this growth can be attributed to growing consumer interest in smartwatches as an accessory and as a fitness tracker.
Local companies continue to dominate India’s smartwatch market. Fire-Boltt led India’s market for the first time with 28% share. The company’s Noise was second with 26% share overall. boAt, together with its sub-brands, maintained the third place with 19% share.
