Major PC core chips suppliers Intel, AMD and Nvidia have all revised downward their 2022 shipment or revenue projections along with brand device vendors successively lowering their sales goals for the year, but Apple remains the only vendor that may remain stable or even improve shipments and revenue, according to DigiTimes Asia.
Of course, Apple makes its own processors now — Apple Silicon , the M-x line of chips. So far Apple has released the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra, and M2. The company is expected to debut iPad Pros with M2 processors this year, and Macs with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips late this year or in early 2023.
Intel has lowered its revenue goals for 2022 by roughly $11 billion and expects PC chip shipments to drop 10% compared to 2021 due to lower demand. AMD excepts its shipments to drop between 14% and 16% in 2022, compared to a 7%-9% drop it was originally expecting.
