Some folks have been reporting Studio Display speaker problems. 9to5Mac says the good news is that it’s not a hardware problem, but the bad news is that there’s no fix yet.
The article adds that Apple has acknowledged the issue, and while the company doesn’t yet have a solution, the fact that it has been identified as a software issue suggests that a future update will resolve it.
The issues involve speaker problems and poor video quality on its FaceTime camera. A temporary fix for issues is to power-cycle the monitor, which means you have to unplug it, then reconnect the power cable.
The Studio Display costs US$1,599, and $1,499 for education. Additional technical specifications, including nano-texture glass and a choice of stand options, are available at apple.com/store. The nano-texture glass option adds $300 to the price, while the tilt-and-height adjustable stand ads $400.
