Mac Menchaca joins the cast of Apple TV+’s ‘The Big Cigar’

Marc Menchaca (“Ozark”) has signed on to star alongside André Holland, Don Cheadle, Alessandro Nivola and Tiffany Boone in the six-episode limited series “The Big Cigar,” centered on Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton (Holland), for Apple TV+, reports Deadline.

Menchaca will play Agent Sydney Clark. A former lawyer and Vietnam vet from Oklahoma, Clark lives undercover as a dirty hippie while pursuing Newton, who is wanted on charges of killing a teenage prostitute.

About ‘The Big Cigar’

Here’s how the series is described: “The Big Cigar” is a six-episode limited series executive produced and written by Jim Hecht (“Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty”), and executive produced and showrun by NAACP Image Award winner Janine Sherman Barrois (“Claws,” “The Kings of Napa”).

André Holland (“The Eddy,” “Moonlight”) will star as Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton, Here’s how the limited series is described:

Cheadle (the Avengers movies, “No Sudden Move,” “Black Monday,” “House of Lies”) is on board to direct and executive produce the first two episodes. The limited series is based on the eponymous magazine article from Joshuah Bearman (“Argo”), who will also serve as executive producer.
