IOGEAR’s Dock Pro is a convenient 6-in-1 USB-C docking station/stand for your Mac laptop

IOGEAR’s US$89.95 Dock Pro is a 6-in-1 USB-C docking station/stand that adds expandability to your Mac laptop and saves desk real estate by doubling as a stand.

The dock — which extends one USB-C port to six — sports 100w USB-C power delivery port; an HDMI port that supports one 4K (4K@30Mhz) display; one USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen 1) port with max 5Gbps (data only); two USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 ports with max 5Gbps; and a gigabit LAN port.

Its power delivery pass-thru with a total of up to 88W can be charged to the laptop after the “deduction” of the max 12W used the dock itself. You should note that an USB-C AC adapter from a laptop is needed for the pass-thru function.

The Dock Pro has an adjustable viewing angle designed to promote better posture. There are five adjustable height settings from 15 to 35 degrees. What’s more, raising the laptop off a surface creates more airflow to keep your Mac cool.

The front and bottom of the stand has a rubber grip that stops it from sliding around. The primary supporting arm has supporting grips at the bottom and the top parts, too, so as not to scratch your Mac.

The IOGEAR packs a lot of functionality into a small design. It measures 0.82 (height) x 10 (length) x 2.36 (width) inches and weighs less than a pound. With its collapsible design, it’s easy to toss in a backpack or carrying case and take on the road.

The stand collapses and folds neatly for travel/storage with attached USB-C cable secured neatly in the stand’s base when it’s not being used. Small magnets secure the closed position, so it doesn’t open unexpectedly.

Using it is easy. You unfold the dock from the base position so that the dock forms an “x” in the middle of the unit. Raise the brackets to the height you desire, then extend the support arms under the brackets to hold the brackets in place. Voila. It’s ready for use.

The Dock Pro is compatible with macOS 10.13 and higher and Windows 10/11. the docking station supports all standard laptop sizes and up to 11 pounds.
