Rumor: The entry-level iPad will be updated with A14 Bionic chip, 5G, USB-C connectivity

Apple plans to update the entry-level iPad with the A14 Bionic chip, 5G, and, for the first time, USB-C connectivity, according to 9to5Mac.

This means that the tech giant is brining USB-C to its entire tablet lineup. The iPad Pro was updated with USB-C in 2018, the iPad Air in 2020, and the iPad mini in 2021.

Regarding the iPad update, 9to5Mac says:

° It will feature a Retina display of the same resolution as the iPad Air’s display.

° Its screen will increase to 10.5 or 10.9 inches compared to the 10.2-inch screen of the current model.

° It will be equipped with the A14 Bionic chip.

° Apple will add 5G network support for cellular models.

° The new iPad will be introduced “at some point later this year.”
