iPhone manufacturer Foxconn offering bonuses, extra cash to woo workers

Apple partner Foxconn is conducting early iPhone 17 development at a factory in Bengaluru, India, according to The Information.

Foxconn, Apple’s largest manufacturing partner, is wooing workers with “fat bonuses” amid the Omicron outbreak to beef up recruitment at its Zhengzhou campus, according to the South China Morning Post.

The campus is one of the company’s biggest iPhone plants. What’s more, Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory is offering extra cash incentives to experienced workers to return to the production line. The South China Morning Post notes that the approaching Lunar New Year holiday and a surge in local Covid-19 cases create new recruitment challenges.

The same bonus package was previously offered last July, when the factory was ramping up production of the new iPhone 13 series, notes the article.
