Apple’s first virtual event of 2022 is likely to take place in either March or April, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says in his latest “Power On” newsletter. He expects a new iPhone SE with support for 5G and a faster chip to be unveiled at the event.
Gurman says the event could also see a 27-inch iMac Pro and a new Mac mini debut. He thinks both will come in M1 Pro and M1 Max configurations.
The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) is expecting a March event. However, I’m expecting the 27-inch iMac and updated Mac mini to be the main focus, though the updated iPhone SE will also arrive. Actually, I’m hoping for a 30-inch or 32-inch all-in-one, but the smart money says that won’t happen.
Finally, Gurman thinks summer’s Apple Worldwide Developer Conference will (once again) be fully virtual. Makes sense with the Omicron variant of COVID causing chaos.
