Notable apps and updates: November 10

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS

Trend Micro has updated Cleaner One Pro for macOS. It’s a disk cleaning tool that scans and removes junk files, big files, duplicate files, similar photos, and unnecessary applications. 

Cleaner One Pro also offers features such as real-time memory usage optimization and a start-up manager to speed up your Mac. The new version adds macOS Monterey compatibility ad native support for the latest M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

Cleaner One is available at the product website and the Mac App Store for US$144.99 for a limited time. It requires macOS 10.12 or later.

24U Software has announced  Bridge for Phidgets 4.0, an upgrade of the plug-in that enables custom apps made with Claris FileMaker to sense and control the physical world via smart devices made by Phidgets.

Existing customers use Bridge for Phidgets in a wide range of different industries, including compliance testing of electrical equipment and much more, Version 4.0 adds support for all current smart VINT Phidget sensors and server-side automation using FileMaker Server.

Bridge for Phidgets 4.0 is available for download free as a fully functional 14-day trial version, which can be activated after purchasing a license code. Licenses for Bridge for Phidgets are available as annual subscription and start at $49 per user and device or $99 per user with unlimited devices. 4Server-side licenses start wt $299 per server and year. Volume discounts are available for 5 or more users and 2 or more servers. Licenses for iOS apps start at $499 (USD) per app and year with up to 20 users. Optional Premium Support and Implementation services are available with the purchase of Bridge for Phidgets 4.0.

Zevrix Solutions has released Package Central 1.11.23, a compatibility update to the company’s file packaging automation solution for Adobe InDesign. 

The utility collects InDesign documents along with their fonts and links automatically from watched hot folders. Package Central serves unlimited users on a network and offers PDF/IDML export, email notifications, variable folder names, and more. The new version adds support for the recently released InDesign 2022 featured as part of Adobe Creative Cloud.

Package Central can be purchased for $149.95 from the Zevrix website. A demo is available for download. The update is free for registered users. Package Central requires macOS 10.9-12 and Adobe InDesign CS6-2022.

iOS

Lindrs has launched their tool sharing app, designed to make renting tools easier.

The free app is designed for homeowners working on renovations or repairs, DIYers and those with a garage full of tools. App users can rent tools for projects of any size or earn money from tools they already own by renting them to neighbors.
