macOS Monterey’s Quick Note offers a new way to jot down notes on any app or website systemwide. The goal, according to Apple, “is to make it easy to capture thoughts and ideas wherever inspiration strikes.”
With Quick Notes, you can do things such as add links from an app to a Quick Note to create context — even on a website in Safari or an address in Maps. And you don’t have to be using the dedicates Notes app to use the feature.
Quick Notes is a “hot corner” feature. In other words, you choose a corner of your Mac’s screen to be “hot.” Move your cursor to the corner and Quick Notes launches.
Setting up Quick Notes
Here’s how to implement it:
° Open System Preferences.
° Click on Mission Control.
° Click the “Hot Corners” button (it’s at the bottom of the Mission Control setting window).
° An image representing your Mac’s screen will appear with four pop-up menus in each corner. Select a corner to make it “hot” and launch Quick Note.
° Select “Quick Note.”
° Click “OK” and close System Preferences.
Using Quick Notes
° Use the hot corner to launch Quick Notes.
° A white box will appear.
° Click on it and a Quick Note opens.
