Noopl is an iPhone plug-in device designed for those with hearing issues. It helps users reduce background noise and improve hearing in noisy environments. There’s a lot to love about the Noodle, but there are a couple of caveats.
About the Noopl
Noopl utilizes three microphones and spatial audio features enabled by iOS 14 and later for the AirPods Pro to track head movements and automatically focus on the voice of the person you are looking toward. This improves conversations, reduces the stigma of hearing aids, and helps people better connect with those around them.
The Noopl’s strong points
I had two friends of my with hearing issues test the Noopl. The device doesn’t work with hearing adds that aren’t an Apple MFI (Made for iPhone) device. However, they work great with AirPod Pros.
Set-up is easy. One friend said they allowed his AirPod Pros to “almost become a hearing aid.” They have both volume and and noise reduction controls, which are very handy. Plus, you can choose the direction you wish to amplify, which is extremely convenient.
The Noopl’s weak points
One friend was disappointed that it couldn’t replace a hearing aid (but that’s not what the Noopl is designed for). He said that there’s lots of added noise when you hold the device. Also, the Noodle needs to be placed on something and pointed for best reception, which is not an ideal set-up.
Noopl 1.0 costs US$199 and is available at www.Noopl.com. Currently the device is compatible with iPhone 7 and newer and requires AirPods Pro for the auto-steering feature. It also works with all MFi compatible hearing aids.

summary
8.1The Noopl can’t replace your hearing aid, but that’s not the point. For those with hearing issues, it can be a valuable access for use with AirPods Pro and an iPhone.
