Notable apps and updates: September 28

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS

Carnation Software has released MacWise version 22.1.2, an update to its terminal emulation software for macOS.

It allows a Mac to be used as a terminal, connected to a host computer directly, by modem, local area network or over the Internet with telnet or ssh secure shell. MacWise emulates ADDS Viewpoint, Wyse 50, Wyse 60, Wyse 370, Televideo TV 925, DEC VT100, VT220 and Prism terminals.

Version 22.1.2 is compatible with macOS Monterey and backwards compatible to Sierra. Pricing for MacWise starts at US$95 for a single user license.

24U Software has announced Gonector 2.1, an update of the FileMaker plug-in that allows a native application for iPhone or iPad, built using the FileMaker iOS App software development kit, to communicate directly with mobile hardware devices.

The mobile hardware integration plug-in adds support for printing labels, including those with embedded RFID tags, directly from custom FileMaker apps to Zebra ZQ630 and compatible printers over Bluetooth.

Gonector 2.1 is immediately available for download free of charge as a fully functional 14-day demo. The development dummy plug-in doesn’t require activation. The iOS version embedded into an app can be activated with a license that is tied to theo specific bundle ID of the app. Licenses for Gonector start at $499 per year for an app deployed to up to 20 users.

iOS

Gamind Limited has introduced Little Hero, a new pixel idle RPG for iOS and Android devices.

The game allows players start their adventure and travel through Uggel Continent trying to end the conspiracy of the Great Devil. With the help of the elves, players will recruit mercenaries, summon dragons, and finally kill the legendary monsters, and bring peace to the land.

Little Hero requires iOS/iPadOS 9.0 or later. It’s free at the Apple App Store, but does offer in-app purchases.
