Macs, iPads are the computing devices that most Americans are satisfied with

The ACSI Household Appliance and Electronics Study 2020-2021 from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) shows that Apple’s Macs and iPads are the computing devices that most Americans are satisfied with.

Apple has a satisfaction index score of 82 (out of 100), which is the same score the Mac had in the prior ACSI survey. Trailing Apple (and their scores) are HP (80) Acer (79), Samsung (79), Dell (78), Lenova (78) and ASUS (77).

When it comes to the type of computing devices, 62% of those surveyed preferred laptops, 24% preferred desktops, and 14% preferred. The customer satisfaction ratings for the three types of devices are, respectively, 78, 78, and 76.

The ACSI Household Appliance and Electronics Study 2020-2021 is based on interviews with 7,960 customers, chosen at random and contacted via email between July 7, 2020, and June 26, 2021. Customers were asked to evaluate their experiences with recently purchased products of the largest manufacturers in terms of market share, plus an aggregate category consisting of “all other”—and thus smaller—companies in these industries.
