Apple addresses two issues affecting some iPhone 13s, iPad minis, ninth gen iPads

There are a couple of glitches that some users are experiencing when upgrading to an iPhone 13 or new iPad. Apple has addressed both in support documents.

In the first, Apple says it’s discovered an issue where widgets might revert to their default settings after you restore your iPhone or iPad from a backup.

The company says the issue affects only a “limited number” of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPad (9th generation), and iPad mini (6th generation)

If you experience this issue, here’s how to customize your widgets again:

  1. Touch and hold a widget to open the quick actions menu.
  2. Tap Edit [widget name].
  3. Make your changes, then tap outside of the widget to exit.

In the second support document, Apple notes that if you restore your new iPhone or iPad from a backup, you might not be able to access the Apple Music catalog, Apple Music settings, or use Sync Library on your new device. It affects the previously mentioned products.

To resolve this, update your new iPhone or iPad. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Settings > General.
  2. Tap Software Update.
  3. Tap Install Now.
  4. Wait for the update to finish.
