New episodes of ‘Stillwater’ premiere today on Apple TV+

And ‘Doug Unplugs' returns for season two

Following its Peabody and Daytime Emmy Award-winning global debut, five new episodes of the animated Apple Original series “Stillwater” are now available to stream globally on Apple TV+, alongside five bonus shorts that feature accessible moments of mindfulness for kids, available here.

About ‘Stillwater’

Recently recognized with a Peabody Award for excellence in storytelling and for work that encourages empathy, “Stillwater” is a series for kids and families. Here’s how it’s described: It highlights mindfulness and has charmed young viewers with its tales of friendship while providing kids with a new perspective on the world around them.

The series centers on siblings Karl, Addy and Michael, who encounter everyday challenges — big and small — which sometimes feel insurmountable. Fortunately for these three, they have Stillwater, a wise panda, as their next-door neighbor. Through his example, stories and gentle humor, Stillwater gives the children a deeper understanding of their feelings as well as tools that help them face their own day-to-day challenges.

In the newly premiered five episodes from season one, we find our young heroes dealing with big moments such as losing a role in the school play and covering up a problem to avoid responsibility, to smaller challenges of tying shoes and cheering up a friend. A Halloween bonus episode from season one will also premiere October 1, involving the realities of a spooky celebration where some can feel left out.

“Stillwater” is based on the Scholastic book series Zen Shorts by Jon J Muth and is produced by Gaumont and Scholastic Entertainment. The series is executive produced by Sidonie Dumas, Christophe Riandee, Nicolas Atlan, Terry Kalagian, Iole Lucchese, Caitlin Friedman, Jef Kaminsky and Rob Hoegee and features the voice talents of James Sie, Eva Binder, Tucker Chandler and Judah Mackey.

About ‘Doug Unplugs’

Additionally, Apple TV+ today revealed that the second season of “Doug Unplugs” will premiere with seven brand-new episodes, including a bonus holiday special, on Friday, September 17. This season, Doug and Emma have become expert explorers as they embark on new adventures in Mega City. They find themselves learning about the deep sea, playing in a band, and going to school!

Here’s how ‘Doug Unplugs’ is described: Hailing from DreamWorks Animation and based on Dan Yaccarino’s “Doug Unplugged” book series, “Doug Unplugs” follows a young robot named Doug who senses there’s more to life than just the facts. While other robots plug in for their daily download, curious Doug unplugs and journeys into the human world, and with his best friend Emma, experiences its wonders firsthand. “Doug Unplugs” is executive produced by Jim Nolan, Aliki Theofilopoulos and Dan Yaccarino, and stars the voice talents of Brandon James Cienfuegos, Kyrie McAlpin, Eric Bauza, Mae Whitman, Leslie David Baker and Becky Robinson.
