New public, developer betas released by Apple

Apple has released a new public beta and four developer betas today. The former is for macOS 12 Monterey.

It’s available on Apple’s Beta Software Program website. Just remember that beta software is unfinished software, so proceed with care. Apple does public betas in order to increase the size of the pool of testers. The tech giant recommends keeping back-ups of your files before installing a public beta.

Apple has also released the eighth developer betas of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15, and watchOS 8.

Registered developers can download the beta via Apple’s developer portal. Or it can be downloaded over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.

Also, Apple has released a revised version of its AirTags firmware. ou can’t force an AirTag update. It’s done over-the-air through a connected iPhone. To make sure the update happens, you can put your AirTag in range of your smartphone. However, you have to wait for the firmware to roll out to your device.
