Ross Young at Display Supply Chain Consultants tweets that the upcoming iPad mini will feature an 8.3-inch display, an increase from the current 7.9-inch screen. He says that’s facilitated by narrower bezels and the removal of the Home button.
This is one of many recent rumors about the expected update of the smallest Apple tablet. For example, the sixth generation iPad mini will sport a mini-LED display, according to DigiTimes. It’s expected to debut in the second half of the year.
“Radiant Optoelectronics will kick off shipments of its backlight units for the upcoming mini LED-backlit MacBook Pro and iPad mini later in the third quarter, with the shipments to expand in volume in the fourth quarter, according to industry sources,” the report says.
DigiTimes’ prognosis jibes with comments that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made in May.
