Apple rolls out macOS Big Sur 11.5 with security fixes, more

Apple has released macOS Big Sur 11.5. The update can be downloaded for free on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences. 

According to Apple’s release notes, there are security fixes and:

° The Podcasts Library tab allows you to choose to see all shows or only followed shows

° This release also fixes the following issues:

  • Music may not update play count and last played date in your library
  • Smart cards may not work when logging into Mac computers with the M1 chip.

Also, as noted by 9to5Mac, security updates have arrived for both macOS Catalina and Mojave. Fixes included are for flaws that could lead to malicious applications gaining root access, arbitrary code being executed with kernel privileges, and more.
