Analyst: Apple will introduce second generation AirPods Pro next year

They’re expected to spur sales of the wireless earbud line

Apple is purportedly working on a smart home camera and AirPods with more health care features.

In a note to clients — as noted by MacRumors — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple will release second-generation AirPods Pro in 2022.

He says AirPod sales look to be “lower-than-expected” for the remainder of this year. Kuo has revised his forecast from 75-85 million to to 70-75 million. The analysts thinks the release of the second-generation ‌AirPods Pro‌ next year will boost shipments to more than 100 million.

Previous rumors have said that the AirPods Pro 2 will have a round design and eliminate the short stem that currently sticks out from the bottom. The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) says that sounds about right.
