Korean website The Elec says Samsung Electro-Mechanics will be supplying its rigid flexible printed circuit boards (RFPCB) to Apple for 120Hz displays for the tech giant’s upcoming iPhone 13 Pro models.
RFPCB is used to connect the OLED panel with the main board. Apple is planning to use RFPCB for the two higher tier models in the new iPhone, while the remaining two models will use multiplex FPCB, according to The Elec. RFPCB is both rigid and can be folded, “which allows for more convenient product deigns and faster transmission of electric signals,” the article adds.
Some other rumors about the upcoming iPhones, expected to launch in September or October:
° All models will feature a smaller notch.
° They’ll have improved camera capabilities for astrophotography, stronger MagSafe magnets, and a finer matte finish on the back
° They could include a 1TB storage option for some models and LiDAR Scanners across the entire lineup.
