Apple TV+’s ‘Wolfwalkers’ nominated for an Annie Award

Apple TV+’s “Wolfwalkers” has been nominated for an Annie Award by ASIFA-Hollywood. The awards honor the best in the field of animation.

“Wolfwalkers” was nominated for “Best Animated Feature-Independent,” a category that spotlighting features with a much smaller distribution footprint than major studio releases. Go to www.annieawards.org/nominees for a complete list of nominees.

Here’s how “Wolfwalkers” is described: “In a time of superstition and magic, when wolves are seen as demonic and nature an evil to be tamed, a young apprentice hunter, ROBYN, comes to Ireland with her father to wipe out the last pack. But when Robyn saves a wild native girl, MEBH, their friendship leads her to discover the world of the Wolfwalkers and transform her into the very thing her father is tasked to destroy.

The family friendly animated film starts Honor Kneafsey, Eva Whittaker, and Sean Bean in voice roles. It’s directed by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart.

The 48th Annual Annie Awards ceremony will be streamed live, courtesy of Variety on Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m. (Pacific). ASIFA-Hollywood is a professional organization “dedicated to promoting the Art of Animation and celebrating the people who create it.”
