If Apple has delayed its next virtual event, perhaps it means more product announcements than expected

Apple won’t launch a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display until at least the second quarter of the year, which begins on April 1, according to DigiTimes, quoting unnamed ”industry sources.”

That report is backed up by a tweet by leaker Jon Prosser that says the expected March 23 Apple event won’t be held until April. No reason has been given for the delays.

If the event has been delayed (and keep in mind that Apple has never announced such an event), it’s possible that tech giant will have more product announcements than previously expected.

The third generation of AirPods was expected at Apple’s next (online-only) event, but the latest scuttlebutt says that they’ve been delayed until the third quarter of the year.

Whenever Apple’s next event is, it’s almost certain that a 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be announced (even though it might not ship immediately), as will the long-rumored AirTags, Apple’s Tiles competitor. However, if the event is truly being delayed, perhaps the tech giant will surprise us by announcing the first M1 iMacs.
