Back in the very early days of Apple, there were no Apple Stores, but there were plenty of authorized dealers. Those dealers could grace their stores with official signs featuring the famous “rainbow” logo. One of the early iconic Apple retail signs is up for auction by Nate D. Sanders Auctions and could be yours for $12,000 (the minimum bid) or more!
The sign measures “Over 4 feet by 5 feet” and according to the auctioneer, “It was displayed by an authorized reseller who learned about Apple by attending a computer conference in 1976.” The auction takes place on February 25 at the Nate D. Sanders auction house in Los Angeles.
The sign is in fairly good condition, with “A few surface marks, and some yellowing to background, but rainbow colors remain bright. Overall very good condition.”
This Apple retail sign would make a great collectible for any Apple fan with deep pockets. Or you could be really nice and purchase it to decorate the Apple World Today offices!
