As noted by The Mac Observer, Korea’s Economic Daily News claims that Apple will hold a March 16 event this year for an iPad Pro, iPad mini, and AirTags.
The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) isn’t sure about the date, but does expect such an event soon. And Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman tweets that no March 16 event is planned.
The upcoming iPad Pro is expected to sport the same overall design but be slightly thicker to accommodate a mini-LED display. (Some rumors say it will have an OLED display, but my money’s on mini-LED.) It may also be 5G-enabled with mmWave support.
The 2021 iPad mini is also expected to sport a mini-LED display, as well as (of course) a speed bump.
AirTags, which were expected last year, are a (rumored) Tile competitor that you could attach to an item (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV remote, car keys, etc.) and track it if it’s misplaced or lost. There are several similar products on the market, such as Tile and Adero, but Apple’s version will purportedly be more deeply integrated with its own devices.
