You can put a lot of good content in the new BookBook Cover for the iPad

TwelveSouth’s latest BookBook Cover for the iPad makes room for an Apple tablet as well as the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro and Apple Smart Keyboard for iPad + iPad Air. Not only does it provide storage, it offers decent protection in the very cool-looking vintage book-ish cover.

Speaking of the cover, it provides six-sided protection between two hardback covers, a a rigid spine, reinforced corners and dual zippers. It’s shell allows the BookBook to be used as a hands-free viewing stand, while the kickstand flips down to provide a comfortable angle for drawing or typing.

There’s also an interior pocket that can hold some papers, a magazine, a charging cable, and as a place to stash an Apple Pencil. There’s room to attach the Pencil to the iPad for charging even if the Twelve South case is closed. However, the folks at Twelve South recommend storing the Pencil at the top of the iPad inside BookBook. Then connect and charge the Apple Pencil on the side of your iPad when you open it up.

What’s more, there’s camera hole on the back cover. This allows you to take pictures and film HD video even while iPad is inside the cover.

TwelveSouth says the BookBook Case can keep your iPad from being stolen. That’s true if folks with itchy fingers are looking for an expensive tablet. But what if they’re tempted to pilfer a valuable old “book”? Just asking….

But you may ask, “The Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard serve as cases, so do I need a case within a case?” Well, yes, you do because they connect with magnets and, when closed, leave at least three of six sides exposed. The BookBook Case protects all the sides of the Apple tablet.

The quality of the BookBook Case is obvious as soon as you touch it. The hard leather front and back assure you that your iPad will be in good hands (pun intended) while you’re on-the-go. There is a slight bulk to the Twelve South case, but the slight bit of extra weight is well worth the tradeoff.

The BookBook Case is now available for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd and 4th generation) for US$79.99 and the iPad Pro 11‑inch (1st and 2nd generation), iPad Air, and iPad for $69.99.
