Renaming and Moving In-Use Files on the Mac (VIDEO)

Back in the dark ages of computers, if you wanted to change the name of a file or move it from one place to another, you had to close that document. Those were bad old days — if you did that on an old Mac, chances were good that you were going to get an error message, and in some cases you’d lose the document. Fortunately, that’s no longer true on the Mac, and today I’ll show how it’s done.

Renaming or moving files while they are open and in use is a great way to improve your productivity, so check your favorite apps to see if they support this functionality. If you found this video useful, be sure to give it a Like on YouTube and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
