Apple plans to allow customers to buy Macs, iPads, AirPods, and more via monthly payments on its Apple Card, according to Bloomberg.
Quoting unnamed “people familiar with the matter,” the article says the tech giant will be rolling out the program in the coming weeks. Apple will purportedly offer 12-month, interest-free payment plans for Macs, iPads, keyboards, the Apple Pencil, even the $5,000 Pro Display XDR and off six month, interest-free payment plans for AirPods, AirPods Pro, HomePods, and Apple TV set-top boxes.
Customers will be able to make payments through the Wallet app, with charges added each month to their Apple Card bills. Apple debuted a 24-month interest free iPhone installment plan for Apple Card users back in December. It allows customers purchase an iPhone with the Apple Card and pay over the course of 24 months.
The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) says there a 100% chance this will happen. Why not? It could spur hardware sales and get even more people interest in using the Apple Card and Apple Pay. Bloomberg didn’t mention it, but I believe the Apple Watch will also be included in the 12-month payment option.
