Apple says hackers didn’t exploit an iPhone, iPad email glitch

Apple tells Bloomberg that reports that hackers exploited an email flaw on the iPhone and iPad isn’t true.

On April 22, the security group ZecOps (via Motherboard) said it discovered anew potentially serious software vulnerability in iOS 13 that works via the default Mail app. ZecOps added that  one of the two vulnerabilities can be performed remotely with no user interaction required.

“We have thoroughly investigated the researcher’s report and, based on the information provided, have concluded these issues do not pose an immediate risk to our users,” Apple told Bloomberg “The researcher identified three issues in Mail, but alone they are insufficient to bypass iPhone and iPad security protections, and we have found no evidence they were used against customers.”
