News round-up: Apple Afterburner Card, AltConf canceled, more

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, we’ll frequently offer a wrap-up news items you should check out.

Apple’s $2,000 Mac Pro Afterburner Card, previously only available as a build-to-order option for the Mac Pro, is now available as a separate purchase, having previously been offered only as a build-to-order option when configuring a new ‌Mac Pro‌.

AltConf, an alternative conference for developers that normally takes place at the same time as Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, has been canceled following Apple’s announcement that WWDC will be a digital only event.

As noted by AppleInsider, Logitech has debuted new keyboard cases that come equipped with trackpads for both the 10.2-inch iPad and the 10.5-inch iPad Air that connect via the Smart Connector.

Apple has posted two new ads on its YouTube channel touting the abilities of the revamped iPad Pro.

As noted by MacRumors, Apple has refreshed its online storefront with a variety of fresh accessories for the spring. This includes new colors for iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands, and updated versions of Apple’s Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad.

Apple has postponed a planned IMAX theatrical release of the Beastie Boys documentary, “Beastie Boys Story,” due to COVID-19 concerns. However, the Spike Jonze film will debut in late April on Apple TV+

Apple’s new Powerbeats are now available through its online store for $149.95 in black, white, and red.

Apple has released the sixth betas of macOS 10.15.4, iOS 13.4, iPadOS 13.4, watchOS 6.2, and tvOS 13.4. Registered developers can download the betas via Apple’s developer portal. Or they can be downloaded over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.
