Apple has secured new deals for songs from major record labels including Universal Music, Sony Music, and Warner Music for the Apple Music streaming service, reports the Financial Times (a subscription is required to read the entire article).
The article quotes four unnamed “people familiar with the matter,” noting that the record labels represent artists such as Taylor Swift, Lizzo, and Adele. However, if you’re hoping to see Apple Music bundled with other services such as Apple TV+, you’ll be disappointed.
The Financial Times says the new agreement doesn’t include an economic agreement to bundle Apple Music with other services. As of June 2019, Apple Music had surpassed 60 million subscribers worldwide, according to Apple executive Eddy Cue.
