Notable apps and updates, Nov. 18-23

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.

macOS

DEVONtechnologies has updated its documentation and information manager DEVONthink to version 3.0.2. 

Enhancements include optional keyboard navigation in the sidebar, improved WikiLinking, and support for the Nisus Writer file format. DEVONthink 3.0.2 comes with new smart rule actions and search options. It also improves compatibility with macOS Catalina as well as the overall performance and reliability.

DEVONthink 3 can be downloaded for free from the DEVONtechnologies website. After the trial period of 30 days or 150 hours of runtime, whichever is later, it requires a license key for one of the three available editions: DEVONthink 3: $99; DEVONthink Pro 3: $199; and DEVONthink Server 3: $499.

ChronoSync 4.9.6, now available free to registered users from Econ Technologies, improves macOS 10.15 (Catalina) compatibility and reliability. 

New in ChronoSync 4.9.6 is the ability to convert existing HFS+ Formatted backup volumes to the new APFS Volume Group required for Catalina Bootable Backups. Alongside the release of ChronoSync, the ChronoAgent 1.9.4 maintenance update is available for immediate download by registered users.

ChronoSync, the multipurpose Mac App for local and cloud backup, bootable backup and folder synchronizing is designed to work on macOS version 10.11 and newer. Full working trial licenses are available or purchase ChronoSync for $49.99. 

ChronoAgent 1.9.3, the companion app to ChronoSync, allows any Mac to accept direct, secure, high performance connections from any ChronoSync Mac or any InterConneX iOS device to access or transfer data for $14.99. Full working trial licenses are available for either App. InterConneX is the file storage, file management, and file sharing iOS app for the iPhone and iPad.

Zevrix Solutions has announced Deliver Express 2.6.11, a compatibility update to company’s file transfer automation solution. 

Deliver Express sends files automatically from watched hot folders and supports FTP, SFTP, Amazon S3, WebDAV, SMB and other remote and local destinations. The software can run unattended and offers email notifications, delivery to multiple targets, file compression and encryption, and much more.

Version 2.6.11 introduces support for the recently released macOS 10.15 Catalina and is offered as a free update to licensed users. Deliver Express has been notarized by Apple, which is a mandatory requirement on Catalina as part of Apple’s experimental security policy.

Deliver Express can be purchased from the Zevrix website. The license prices are based on the maximum number of allowed destinations and range from $29.95 to $299.95). The 2.6.11 update is free for licensed customers. A demo is available for download. Deliver Express requires macOS 10.8-10.15.

Cisdem has updated Duplicate Finder Mac to version 5.0. It’s an update of the utility that can detect and delete duplicates from external and internal hard drives to free up the space.

The new version now uses the MD5 value checksum algorithm to accurately detect duplicate files by type, name, count, and size. Duplicate Finder Mac 5.0 requires macOS 10.10 or higher. It costs $29.99 for a single user lifetime license.
