Analyst: Apple TV+ to generate $25 billion annually by 2025

In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — JP Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee says Apple TV+ will generate $25 billion annually for the tech giant by 2025.

That figure includes subscriptions to the streaming media service, as well as the potential to grow ad dollars. If Apple amped up advertising in Apple TV+ and the App Store, Chatterjee says that revenues could increase 33% per year to $11 billion in fiscal year 2025, growing from an estimated $2 billion now.

Outlook forecasts for Apple TV+ have been all over the place. Sources close to Apple” tell Variety that Apple TV+ has drawn millions of users who are spending on average more than an hour on the new streaming service. However, Eagle Alpha’s latest report on the intensifying streaming wars claims that Disney+ — which launches today — has gained some traction among consumers as Apple TV+ lags and none of the new challengers to Netflix have yet to make significant inroads.

Apple TV+ costs $4.99 per year. However, you can get a free year’s subscription with the purchase of a new iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
