Justin Theroux to star in new Apple TV+ series (updated)

Justin Theroux will star in a so-far-untitled series for Apple TV+ that Luther creator Neil Cross is writing and executive producing with Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt set to helm the series, according to Geeks Worldwide. Update: According to Deadline, the show is titled The Mosquito Coast and is based on the 1981 novel by Justin’s uncle, Paul Theroux.

Theroux is an actor, film producer, director, and screenwriter. He starred as Kevin Garvey in the HBO mystery drama series The Leftovers (2014–2017), for which he was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series. He’s also appeared in such movies such movies as Mullohand Drive, The Girl on the Train, and The Spy Who Dumped Me.

The article says the series will follow brilliant inventor Allie Fox as he flees America to create a utopian society in Honduras, but he has unknowingly led his family into unimaginable danger.

Apple TV+ will debut Nov. 1. The cost is $4.99/month — or one year free with the purchase of a new Mac, iPhone, or iPad.
