Apple TV+, Apple’s movie streaming service, will launch in India at a reduced price point of INR 99 (US$1.40) per month, in order to compete with a growing raft of local and international video streaming services, according to RapidTV News.
A free seven day trial is being offered and, as an added incentive for Indian online viewers, Apple TV+ is offering to renew the subscription automatically at INR 99 per month after one year. This compares to the $4.99 price tag for the service in the US and GPB4.99 in the UK. It’s also about half the cost of Netflix’s new low cost mobile only service in the country.
Apple TV+ is set to launch Nov. 1. Original shows, movies and documentaries include “The Morning Show,” “Dickinson,” “See,” “For All Mankind” and “The Elephant Queen.” The service will be available on the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, Mac and other platforms, including online at tv.apple.com.
