Apple and Foxconn, one of its manufacturing partners, confirm that the latter violated a Chinese labor rule by using too many temporary staff in the world’s largest iPhone factory, reports Bloomberg.
The accusations came from China Labor Watch, a non-profit advocacy group that investigates conditions in Chinese factories. Apple says it has investigated the allegations and found that most of the allegations. However, the tech giant added that it found Foxconn’s iPhone factory workforce was made up of 50% temporary labor, way above the 10% rule according to the law.
Apple says it’s working with Foxconn to resolve the issue. However, Chinese Labor Watch claims that Apple is allowing Foxconn to continue using the workers despite it technically breaking Chinese law.
