Apple has announced that the rock band Weezer will be headlining its annual WWDC Bash. The night of music, food, and drinks will take place at Discovery Meadow in San Jose, California, from 7-10 p.m. (Pacific).

Developer Steve Trougton-Smith has posted to Twitter that the Sidecar feature of macOS Catalina supports the 27-inch iMac from Late 2015, the 2016 MacBook Pro, 2018 Mac mini, the new Mac Pro, the 2018 MacBook Air, the Early 216 MacBook and newer models of each device. The feature will enable users to extend their Mac desktop by using their iPad as a second display or as a high-precision input device across creative Mac apps.
Speaking of Sidecar, Luna Display, a competition product, has been updated. And its developers say that their app isn’t going away despite Apple’s announcement.
TechCrunch says Apple is closing a loophole that allowed app developers to access users’ potentially sensitive and private data. With the launch of iOS 13, apps that request access to users’ Contacts will no longer be able to read the data in the “Notes” field of those address book entries.
Apple is deprecating SHA-1, an old security standard, in iOS 13 and macOS Catalina. This is good news as SHA-2 and SHA-3, its replacements, is more secure, notes The MacObserver.
