Apple has applied for a patent (number 20190075689) for “thermal regulation for a head-mounted display” that would keep a pair of augmented reality glasses comfortable when used for a long time.
In the patent filing, Apple notes that components included in head-mounted displays can generate heat. During use of a head-mounted display, the heat generated by a head-mounted display may be noticeable to the user, and detract from the user’s ability to enjoy use of the device. Apple is expected to debut “Apple Glasses” perhaps as early as next year. And the tech giant wants is head-mounted displays to incorporate thermal regulation components that reduce heat levels and enhance the user experience.
