The scuttlebutt this week is that Apple will debut its long-awaited video streaming service on March 25, along with a subscription news service to complement Apple News. Now Variety is reporting that Apple will preview some of its original series on that date, but the streaming service itself won’t launch until late summer or early fall.
The article says that the tech giant has vowed to its high-caliber producing partners to mount marketing blitzes on behalf of the shows in addition to the service itself. Bloomberg reported Wednesday that the company had invited Aniston, Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, and J.J. Abrams to attend. Sources tell Variety that other talent associated with upcoming Apple content, including Jane Krakowski and Hailee Steinfeld, have been invited to attend.
