On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.
macOS Apps/Updates
Groosoft has rolled out Translate Box 1.0.1, a translation comparison and management app for the Mac.
The software shows translation results from several translation services simultaneously to provide optimal translations. Additionally, all contents of a translation can be tabulated and systematically managed. Users can add new boxes to create new translations, as well as create well-organized documents in table form as boxes stack.
Translate Box 1.0.1 costs $4.99 and requires macOS 10.13 or higher. It’s available exclusively at the Mac App Store.
Econ Technologies has released ChronoSync Express 1.3, an update to their entry level version of ChronoSync for macOS.
It provides the basic file synchronization, backup and scheduling capabilities found in ChronoSync but at a more affordable price ($24.99). Version 1.3 offers full macOS Mojave support and adds several new features and enhancements that focus primarily on exploiting new operating system technologies such as Dark Mode.
ChronoSync Express works with macOS 10.10 or higher. Version 1.3 is a free update for registered users. A demo is available. ChronoSync Express along with over 100 other Apps as part of the Setapp subscription service.
Zevrix Solutions has released BatchOutput PDF 2.2.35, a feature update to the company’s PDF printing automation solution for macOS.
The app prints PDFs from watched hot folders. Users only need to drop PDFs into hot folders, and the files will be printed automatically using the assigned output settings. The app saves users significant time and effort of printing PDF files manually. Version 2.2.35 allows users to edit print settings on the fly and adds integration of the SoftwareKey licensing system.
BatchOutput PDF can be purchased from the Zevrix website for $24.95 ( a server version is available for $99.95), as well as from Mac App Store. The update is free for licensed users of version 2. A demo is available for download. BatchOutput PDF supports macOS 10.7-10.14.
Eltima Software has released FlexiHub 3.4, an update to their USB sharing tool for macOS.
The tool allows redirecting USB ports and devices attached to them across the Internet so that multiple network users can access the shared USB peripherals from their local computers. Version 3.4 offers new device filters and an option to log in to the software account using tokens. All network connections created using FlexiHub are protected with 256-bit SSL encryption.
FlexiHub 3.4 pricing is based on a subscription plan. You can choose your own subscription plan depending on how many simultaneous connections you require. If you don’t feel the need to connect to remote USB peripherals, but just want to share devices attached to your computer, you can sign up for a FlexiShare plan provided at no cost.
