New rumor: Apple will debut its news subscription service AND video streaming service on March 25

Okay, pay attention now. This week it has been reported that Apple would debut a subscription news service to complement Apple News and perhaps a magazine subscription service on March 25 with its long-in-the-works video streaming service arriving in late April or early March.

Now Bloomberg claims Apple is planning to unveil both its news service and its TV streaming service at a March 25 event packed with celebrities. The article says Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, and JJ Abrams are among those invited to attend.

Bloomberg says the video service will be similar to Amazon Prime Video and Netflix and will include TV shows and movies either acquired or funded by Apple. The company’s premium news service will be integrated into the Apple News app, letting consumers subscribe to a bundle of titles for a monthly fee, the article adds.

The question is, “What will these services cost?” Depending on which rumor you believe, they’ll be:

  • All bundled together with Apple Music into one subsciption package;

  • Offered as separate services with separate subscriptions;

  • Provided free to owners of Apple devices.
