Apple has scooped up Data Tiger, a UK startup focused on digital marketing, reports Bloomberg. The company — which has perhaps 10 employees — boasts that it has “deep roots in the entertainment business” and employs “award wining designers and digital communications experts.”
Data Tiger, based in London, is a web design and digital marketing agency that says it bridges the gap for personal brands and business’ that don’t have the staff, resources, time or expertise to get a positive return on their digital marketing. The company’s goal is to “create and execute marketing strategies that bring high returns and consistent results for the following services: website design, link building, content marketing, lead generation, social media management, and Facebook advertising.
A regulatory filing in December shows that Apple now controls Operatedata Ltd., the legal name of DataTiger. On his LinkedIn profile, DataTiger CEO Philipp Mohr says his firm wants to “bring the stale era of ‘email-list thinking’ and slow, campaign-based marketing to an end.”
Bloomberg says Apple likely made the acquisition to boost “digital marketing and make it more relevant to customers.”
