CES: Harman Kardan debuts new Citation home audio speakers

At this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Harman Kardon debuts its Citation Series line of home audio speakers. They purported offer “an innovative acoustic design delivering remarkable audio quality with cutting-edge technologies—including the Google Assistant, a high-resolution LCD touch screen and Chromecast built-in.”

The speakers feature the brand’s signature industrial design accented with such elements as aluminum detailing and winter grey or classic black wool fabric by Kvadrat, a European leader in acoustic textiles.

The Citation series offers the option to use the speakers individually or build a 5.1-channel surround sound system. Powered by WiSa technology, the series delivers low latency, HD multi-channel and multi-room capabilities, which allow for the control of sound from any room, either playing from one music source or playing different tracks in different rooms.

In early 2019, an over-the-air (OTA) update will bring Apple AirPlay 2 support and Presets to the Citation series. With AirPlay 2, customers can wirelessly stream music from an iOS device, Apple TV, HomePod or by asking Siri.

The Harman Kardon Citation lineup consists of various options, including multiple countertop speaker options, a soundbar, powered subwoofer and tower speaker. They’re available now at harmankardon.com in prices ranging from $499.99 per pair to $2499.95 per pair.
