Apple Daily Report: Jamf sees record growth in 2018 (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out. 

Jamf, which speecializes Apple management, says it ended 2018 with another year of record growth, expanding its customer base by 57% to welcome over 7,100 new organizations. Further, the company grew total revenue by 30%, and recurring revenue grew by 40% year-over-year, maintaining an industry-leading retention rate of 96%.

In an interview with Vogue Business, Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts has talked about Apple’s approach to “experiential” retail. 

Epic has released an update to Fortnite that adds support for third-party gamepads on iPhones and iPads. Controllers must be MFi-certified by Apple, but any model should otherwise work, Epic says iin its patch notes.



I’m skeptical, but Apple developer Steve Troughton-Smith posted on Twitter that upcoming refreshes of the iPad mini and 9.7-inch iPad will support the Apple Pencil.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple will kick off its first Apple Watch Activity Challenge f the year early next month. The February Activity Challenge will kick off Feb. 8 and run through Valentine’s Day.
